Florists in the United States range from neighborhood flower shops with a walk-in cooler to studio designers who work only by appointment for weddings and events. Most retail florists build arrangements to order, deliver the same day when you call before early afternoon, and belong to a wire network (FTD, Teleflora or BloomNet) that passes out-of-town orders to a local shop. Ordering from the shop directly rather than through a national website usually means more flowers for the money, because no order-gatherer takes a cut. Flower markets and wholesalers sell loose stems and bunches, often early in the morning, and many now open to the public. Flower farms grow seasonal blooms such as dahlias, peonies and sunflowers and sell by the bucket, by subscription or as pick-your-own.

Good place for fresh produce. It is where I go to buy tumeric to grind or if a recipe requires daicon or something a vegetable not stocked at the supermarket.

I like this market as it is very convenient and a great place to grab inexpensive fruits and vegetables - if you just take a moment to look through their ample stock. Writing this review especially for the Flower Shop in the market, and Alex in particular. After going to a few flower shops in/near town and being treated in a not-so-friendly manner by most of them, I remembered that Central Market had a Flower Shop - and I'm so glad that I did. Alex was cool, calm and collected even though prom was the next day, he took the time to listen to (and work with) me to figure out what would be best. To top it off, his work was beautiful and he did it exactly as we had discussed. When someone goes out of their way to help you in such a kind way - especially in a pinch, it is right to acknowledge that...especially when other shops were so unkind and detached. Thank you Alex - and thank you Central Produce Market! You are a gem in the town of New Providence.

Good produce, good prices, the cashiers are so rude though. Itβs an unpleasant to not get greeted, or dismissed from the cashier without a proper goodbye. Itβs just manners that non of the cashiers have which suck because as a Hispanic person, I would appreciate if they wouldnβt lower the stereotypes of other Hispanic people. Itβs just not a good or pleasant look, also farmer markets are suppose to have that friendliness to it, almost non of the cashiers display such thing..

Lily & I want to say, choose kindness. Life goes by so fast to be mean or rude. #Lovemorejudgeless. Pictures from 2025.

Central Produce Market continues to be a very consistent, well stocked produce market. In addition they have an aisle of dry pasta and many of the staples you need if you typically cook from scratch. Highlights are: - large beets - carrots - selection of mushrooms - onions - leeks - variety of greens - rolls prices vary but are decent. Well stocked, no frills market primarily stocks produce but does have deli & cheese counter, olives, milk and eggs, a nice selection of tofu, dried pasta, dried beans, nuts and fruit. Simple flooring like a big box store, I think it is just cement but isles are wide, usually very clean and neatly organized produce is constantly being restocked, topped off. You may need to pick through some items as they can be sold 'just in time' before their end date. Most typically this would be with delicate fruit such as strawberries, cherry tomatoes and mandarin oranges but oftentimes the produce is in very good shape with a much better selection and quality than surrounding brand name supermarkets.
